Religious Accommodations
Religious Accommodations Overview
The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance works with faculty, staff, and student employees to provide reasonable work accommodations to allow observance of religious practices and holidays.
The Reasonable Accommodation Policy provides an overview of the process for religion accommodation requests.
Confidentiality
Accommodation requests and related information will remain confidential, shared only with relevant parties on a need-to-know basis.
Student Religious Accommodations
Students requesting accommodations for religious observances affecting academic programs (e.g., classes or exams) should submit a written request to their faculty member. Faculty will consult with the Office of the Provost as needed to assess and grant accommodations.
For more details, visit Provost Religious Holiday Accommodations.
Employee and Job Applicant Religious Accommodations
Employees, student employees and job applicants requesting religious accommodations should contact OCR at accommodations@northwestern.edu or (847) 467-6165.
